I've always struggled describing my favorite decor style...until shopping at Homegoods the other day. I saw this navy accent chair with teak accents and clean lines. I fell in love and looked at the tag, it was labeled as a "Midcentury Accent Chair". Needless to say I hopped on Pinterest and got lost in a land of Midcentury Modern Decor. Even though I ended up not buying the chair at Homegoods (the seat cushion was attached and that drives me nuts), but it allowed me to narrow down my personal decor style: Midcentury Modern with Nautical/Costal accents, think Jonathan Adler, most Target collections, and half of Crate & Barrel. Our apartment is currently a hodgepodge of old and new.. and even though we won't be redoing it anytime soon, I love having a focused goal towards redecorating. I definitely recommend visiting At Home in Love, a beautiful blog where I found the above picture - she is the best inspiration for my Midcentury Modern obsession. What is your personal decor style?!
