Happy Fourth of July! 238 years ago, our nation declared independence, which has inspired my little blog to do the same! Parker the Prepster officially ends in .com! This declaration has marked a change in my life. I have officially moved to Boston and started a new life in the big city. I have also experienced college graduation, engagement pictures, and starting a new job; we pretty much crammed a million important life events into one month and still have so many exciting moments ahead of us. During hectic and chaotic times, it is important to have cute outfits that you can just throw on and go!

I wore this outfit last Monday and felt easy breezy as we were furniture shopping. The sequins and silk build on the neutral color palette and I love the seamless transition between the stripes in the top and the stitching in the skirt. I found the top, originally from J. Crew, at the Goodwill in Westport, CT. I was beyond excited because I had seen it on Kerry Washington in InStyle forever ago. The skirt is an oldie, but goodie as well. It is made by a well known Anthropologie brand, Moulinette Soeurs, but I actually found it at TJ Maxx for $14.99- you can't beat that price for fantastic silk! I added statement earrings, sterling silver favorites and my engagement ring to complete the look. What is your muted independence day look?
